What: The spring HCT Theatre Academy program focuses on developing and refining performance skills with a combination of workshop training and rehearsal for a recital performance based on Aesop’s Fables.
The first hour of the class will be focusing on practical things to help you grow as an actor, such as: how to audition, how to build a character, accents, movement, improv, and pantomime.
During the second half of the class time, we will be rehearsing for a play, Aesop’s Fables. You will have the chance to enjoy the storyteller’s theatre as you change from actor to character and back to actor again.
– Lin Manuel Miranda
HCT rehearsals are an educational, inspirational experience that increases cast members’ skill, comprehension, and confidence.
The closer a cast is off stage, the more magic there is on stage! Why? Because the connections are real. Cast bonding promotes compassion and tolerance for others!
HCT students learn from professionals who are veterans of the stage, experienced educators, who inspire and are overflowing with passion and positivity. They will bring out the best in your student and inspire self-confidence, imagination, and trust!
By recruiting the best tech teams, costume designers, and directors in town, we bring stories to life in shining ways and create a show worthy of our performers’ talents and hard work.
